“Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?” by Mindy Kaling

MindyKaling

This was a fun read.  There was a lot of great shit in here.  I particularly enjoyed the bit about playing frisbee.  I’ll make you read the book to find out what I mean.  It’s never a good idea to retell a joke.  This is a great book to keep around because it’s essay style.  You can pick it up and put it down freely without feeling like you’re ignoring it.  I do think Mindy Kaling is super talented, and a refreshing personality to have in pop culture right now.  She proves you can be smart, witty, super successful, and yet still prefer to read Shopaholic books on a Saturday afternoon to relax instead of playing frisbee with a group of people in the park.

I was given this book as a gift – great gift idea, btw.  Not too dirty or R-Rated, but something that would appeal to a lot of people.  Here, I’ll spare you the search time – http://amzn.to/1FzWrHR

Music Video Fail: “One Last Time” by Ariana Grande

Recently, I discovered that I love Ariana Grande’s latest single “One Last Time” and it was my favorite song for like TWO WEEKS.  It’s my favorite song of hers, by far.  There’s no obnoxious falsetto, it’s a beautiful song, and catchy as hell.  Today, as Jimmy and I were having a music video binge, I decided to watch the video for this song.  How exciting!  Nope.  Turns out instead of making a beautiful video to match a heartbreaking song, she chooses to make a pretty awful Cloverfield fan film.  I feel this is a huge miss.  Lame.

Here’s the video if you wanna waste some time:

It’s National Siblings Day?

Sure, ok.  I have two siblings.  They’re both boys, they’re both older than me, and they’re both smarter than me.  I feel like I can keep the prettiest card though, because I’m a girl.  Anywho, shout out to my big brothers.  I forgive you for rolling me off the couch as a baby and kicking me in the face that one time.

This song’s for you –

I Heart Hilary

Hilary

I am an OG Hilary Duff fan.  Lizzie Maguire was my jam when I was twelve.  My friends and I were the oldest group by far to see the Lizzie Maguire Movie in the theater – we were 16 – and were likely the only ones waiting the WHOLE movie for LIzzie and Gordo to kiss already.  H. Duff and I are the same age, almost exactly, which makes her my spirit celeb (I just made that up).  Duff followed in the steps of my other loves, the Olsen Twins, and created a tiny empire for herself.  She inspired Selena, Vanessa, and other disney kids to break-out.  Anywho, not sure if you’re all aware, but she’s back in the world of TV and music and girl looks GOOD.  Her music is usually middle of the road, but she just released a single written by Tove Lo – smart move Duff, because it’s one of her best.  I think she’s beautiful, adorable, and I’m stoked for her to be kicking ass again.  Get it, girl.
