Oh you guys…this is FIRE. Not to mention, totes adorbs.
Oh you guys…this is FIRE. Not to mention, totes adorbs.
Because Monday.
This video makes me drool, which is why I’ve posted it more than once. It’s so damn pretty and badass. All I can say is, Iggy in red skinny jeans, cons, and a FIRE in the background = Magic.
This video needs no explaining. I love the shit out of this song. It’s the most fun thing ever. I have not been exposed to much Mark Ronson, but brother, I’m all in. Also, pay attention to the editing of this video because it is top-notch. Jimmy and I are constantly pulling our hair out over music video directors who DON’T CUT ON THE BEAT! This editor knows whats up, and he did a wonderful job. These guys are super ridiculous nerds, but they pull it off and it’s so great. There’s nothing like a good Uptown Funk dance party.
This video was an emotional ROLLERCOASTER for me. First off, I love the “Chandelier” video. If you haven’t seen that one, I recommend making this a double feature. It makes me sad that Sia was pressured into apologizing for offending people who found Shia LaBeouf’s character to be a pedophile. It’s sad to apologize to people for being dumbasses. Anywho, the point is, I think Sia is a talented lady who makes beautiful art. Also, I’m a lifer in the Shia LaBeouf Fan Club. I think he is a phenomenal talent and I hope he gets to prove it more in the future. I think they both should be damn proud of their performance because it makes me cry every time.
Jimmy and I are long-time Selena Gomez Fans. This SONG. The fact that I love it even though it’s clearly about Justin Bieber, goes to show how good the song is. I mean, if I were in a rocky relationship, this would be my JAM. Also, may I say that while I usually really hate this new trend of doing a dialogue breakdown or intro in the song, Selena Gomez rocked that shit. Know why? Because she’s actually a really good actress. And gurl knows how to cry.
We all know how I feel about Taylor Swift. If you don’t know – I can’t stand her face. But I can admit when she scores a homer, and this fucking song is a home-fucking-run. Stop it.
Then Joseph Kahn goes and makes this beautiful video to go with it. Again, stop it.
I love the shit out of pop music. 2014 has been a wonderful, wonderful year for pop music and pop music videos for that matter. And so, I will share my favorites one by one. Sometimes two by two. There are a lot.
Becky G is a gem. I think she’s the real deal and this is one of the BEST songs of the year. You know you love it.
I’m starting to like this trend of pop stars reissuing their debut albums (i.e. Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection). Because really, it’s them saying: “I’m famous now, let me put this together the way I wanted to in the first place, with better producing and guest stars.” It’s the best of the best of what she’s done so far, plus five new songs that are each too legit to quit.
Well done, Ms. Azalea. Bow down to a Goddess.
If I were Jordin Sparks, I would love the shit out of this song.
If you haven’t seen the video for “Booty” by Jennifer Lopez featuring Iggy Azalea, I highly recommend it. It’s quite possibly one of the most ridiculous videos I’ve ever seen. So much booty. Nevertheless, I love it and will watch it at least ten more times this week.
